Terpene Tuesday- Caryophyllene
Happy #terpenetuesday everyone! This week we’re focusing on Caryophyllene also known as B-Caryophyllene. This terpene is found in many spices such as black pepper, cinnamon and coriander. It can also be found in herbs like basil and is often used in essential oil mixes. Caryophyllene is said to have anti-inflammatory properties and great for aiding the healing process. Other potential medical benefits include stress relief (good for combatting anxiety and depression symptoms), reducing spasticity and treating ulcers. This terpene gives certain strains their pepper like taste and earthy smell profiles. Popular strains that are high in Caryophyllene are Candy Land, Fire OG, Skywalker OG, and Girl Scout Cookies.
