PTSD Awareness Day

June 27th marks national PTSD Awareness day throughout the United States. PTSD or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health issue that is induced by a traumatic event or the witnessing of traumatic events. Many people believe that PTSD is only experienced by war veterans, this is simply not true. While a large percentage of people who battle with PTSD are in fact veterans or active military members, these are not the only people impacted. Today is a day to acknowledge what PTSD is and how it may impact those around us. Take a minute and read about it and make yourself aware of what it feels like to be in their position. It is important to understand that it is okay to seek help if you are experiencing symptoms of PTSD such as racing thoughts, vivid intrusive memories, periods of unexplained sadness or anger and more. It is okay to talk about mental health issues and cannabis. End the stigma and be the change. #PTSDawarenessday
